The Roadmender, Northampton, 19th November 2016Oliver Hunter writes:My first gig of The Seer 30th Anniversary Tour and within a few mins drive of my house! The Roadmender is a great venue and just the right size for the band - not too big to fill and not too small that you can't get everyone in. There was a good sized crowd and it was hot, sweaty and loud! The support act was Martin Black - a young solo singer/songwriter. The crowd was about half capacity at this point so he came right to the front of the crowd to play and was well received. As he wasn't in the expected place on the stage, the lighting was very low but he did a good job of geeing up the audience and filling the room with his mix of songs. The band came on to applause and intro music of "One Great Thing" (12" mix) into "The Teacher" (12" mix), during which they connected and checked their instruments, before joining in with the backing track and launching into a rocky version of "The Teacher": Big Country Intro music, The Roadmender, Northampton, 19th Nov 2016, uploaded by Oliver Hunter Scott had his white 'Seer' bass. Afterwards the gig I bought the Martin Black's CD, which he signed. I also managed to get a set list, which Simon, Scott & Jamie kindly signed for me. |
